NESTLER FAMILY REUNION
FIRST OF ALL….REST IN PEACE AUNT GRACE MARIE!
She was the oldest and the longest living Nestler siblings. She died Monday, July 19th, 2010 at the fine age of 96 years and 9 months. Although she could not attend the reunion, she was remembered and loved!
For those of you who don’t know…
…the Nestlers are from my Mom’s side of my family. Well, actually, my Mom’s Mom’s side of the family. This reunion was organized by my 2nd cousin, Mary Mohr and her husband, John, assisted by my Aunt, Mary Wigger. It was held on the Mohr Family Camp/Cabin Retreat in Jefferson, NY (The Catskills) on the weekend of July 17th, 2010.

– I have 208 cousins (12 deceased).
– I have 21 Aunts and Uncles (16 deceased).
– 34 family members showed up for the reunion.

– I have family in 20 different states.
– I tried to figure out the 1st/2nd cousin once/twice removed thing and gave up!
– The farthest someone came to the reunion, I think was my Aunt Mary, who lives in San Diego.

– We are lucky to have a family member with the coolest retreat property ever!

– Cousin, Eric, is still the tallest one in the family.

– Aunt Anne was the only one from the Nestler sibling generation at the reunion (She was married to Nestler brother Henry/Harry).

– Aunt Anne was also the oldest at the reunion at the fine young age of 86 years, 1 month and 1 day!
– There are 7 Mary’s in my family.
– There are 3 Margarets and they all go or went by Peggy.
– Jim and I will be seeing Christine, Zoe and Peyton soon!
– There are a lot of nicknames in my family…Harry for Henry, Peggy for Margaret, Sally for Sara, Teddy for Harriet, Sissy for Harriet, Gene for Augustus, Nellie for Ellen, Dick for Richard, Dee for Dolores, Nonie for Nora, and Reggie for Regina!
– There is only one DAWN…I mean there is only one person with the name Dawn in my family!

– I learned that there is German blood in the Nestler family, not just Irish and English.
– Beer can be drank for breakfast.

– Wood is slippery when wet (aha…most of you don’t know I slipped on the wet tree stump/step when we left….I am a sneaky faller).
– There is at least one musician in the family.
– My aunt at around 60 years of age got her first tattoo and is now working on her 3rd!

– There are/were 4 sets of twins in the family.
– My 86 year old great Aunt Anne still has a wicked sense of humor.
